A note from the Founding Artistic Director

When I first put out the audition notice for wayward sons debut production, MACBETH I was flooded with responses. I was seeking women and non-binary non-union actors in their 20s to embark on an ambitious reimagining of this classic story with 4 actors splitting 21 roles.  Over 600 submissions shared the same sentiment, an opportunity like this is rare for emerging artists. I was shocked. I have met so many talented artists my age who are hungry to do theatre but whose materials are thrown out before they have the chance to share their skill. If there are so many of us at the same stage of our career, why are we not creating opportunities for us to hone our craft?

This production fills a gap in the New York theatre scene, but it is expensive. Currently the production is at the expense of the artists creating the work. Actor stipends, set, tech, costumes, insurance, rehearsal space and more are all coming out of our pockets. You have the opportunity to ensure that this necessary work continues, to make a difference in the New York theatre scene, and uplift emerging artists. Please consider donating today, $10, $20, $50 dollars makes creating work like this possible.
